Brand-new mom Penélope Cruz lost no time getting back to her fabulous pre-baby figure, but not by working with a trainer or hitting the gym. So how’d she do it? The secret, Cruz tells U.K. newspaper the Daily Mirror, is that she returned to her ballet roots — and danced four hours a day!
Cruz, who started as a ballerina before committing to acting (and who got to show off her dancing skills in the recent Nine), says, "I love ballet and I love dancing, and it’s a little boring for me to go to the gym because I’m used to the dancing discipline — it’s really hard but much more fun."
Cruz and husband Javier Bardem welcomed a son, reportedly named Leo (they won’t confirm or deny the moniker) in January. The couple currently splits their time between Los Angeles and Spain and, because of that, Cruz also credits a healthy Spanish diet with keeping her weight under control. "I love Spanish food. My diet is the Mediterranean diet, which is good food. I eat well but I try to eat healthily." That said, she’s not opposed to a little fast food every now and again, admitting to biweekly In-N-Out burger runs. "I do it, like, once a week or once every two weeks," she says. "It’s my little treat for myself. I love the Double-Double with fries."
Although Cruz told the Daily Mirror that since the birth of her son "working as hard as I did is not for me any more," she still has a couple of hotly anticipated films in the pipeline, including Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The film, which screens at Cannes this week and opens in the U.S. on May 20, stars the great Johnny Depp, reprising his role (yet again) as Captain Jack Sparrow. Cruz and Depp had worked together 10 years ago, in Blow, and Cruz jokes, "When I first came to America I only knew two phrases in English. One was, ‘How are you?’ and the other was, ‘I want to work with Johnny Depp.’ Then after I worked with him on Blow, I learned how to say, ‘I want to work with Johnny Depp again!’ He’s very addictive and he just gets better and better over the years."
The friendship between Cruz and Deep seems to have added a lot of levity to the Pirates shoot, with Cruz teaching Depp "the raunchiest Spanish," and Depp returning the favor by ambushing his costar with a remote-control "fart machine."
Cruz was pregnant during much of the grueling shoot of On Stranger Tides, and she said she informed the crew of her condition immediately: "They were very caring. It was funny to be dressed as a tough pirate but being treated with delicacy by everybody. I had to learn to sword fight, too. I’d trained for two months before we started shooting."
Happy at home with husband Bardem and baby son, Cruz’s dancer’s discipline has helped her bounce back physically from the pregnancy, and she seems ready to face whatever the next challenge may be! (Fingers crossed it’ll be a guest spot on Glee!)

Thor
Short Story:
Get ready for another superhero flick! From the pages of a Marvel comic book to the silver screen, this movie begins with the mighty, hammer-wielding Thor (Chris Hemsworth) preparing to take over the throne of the celestial realm of Asgard. His irresponsible actions, however, lead his father (Anthony Hopkins) to banish him to Earth to learn some humility. Once in New Mexico (Natalie Portman) and must discover what it takes to be a hero when his ancient enemies invade Earth.

When are people going to learn that you just can’t get away with dissing Justin Bieber? You can’t criticize him, date him or look sideways at the “Baby” singer without the Beliebers coming down on you like a ton of sparkly, text-mad bricks.
So it should come as no surprise that the culprit in a recent Bieber bashing Down Under was swiftly brought to justice for his egg raid on the pop star. According to The Associated Press, Australian officials have charged a 17-year-old with breaking into Bieber’s concert at Sydney’s Acer Arena on Friday and tossing eggs at the singer. Video of the incident showed several raw eggs hitting the stage and just missing Bieber and his backup singers. Bieber and his crew kept dancing amid the attack, but the Melbourne Herald Sun reported that officials from the arena complained about the incident to police after catching wind of the egging on a social networking site.
The teen was arrested at his home in Bondi Junction, and police seized a cell phone and other items while taking him into custody.
The unnamed youth made an appearance in Sydney Children’s Court on Thursday and was charged with breaking and entering, trespassing, and malicious damage. He was released on bail and is scheduled to enter a plea next month. Police say the teen broke into the arena through the roof.
Bieber didn’t react to the ovum assault, but he did take time after one of his recent shows to meet up with Australian teen Casey Heynes, who became famous for a viral video in which he stood up to a bully. He invited Heynes to come out on stage at a show in Melbourne and tell the crowd “Never say never” after meeting with him privately backstage.

‘Twilight’ star was still an unknown when she auditioned for ’80s-set flick.

After the major box-office bite of three “Twilight Saga” films (and counting), it’s hard to imagine any Hollywood casting director is unfamiliar with Ashley Greene. But when the 24-year-old actress auditioned for the part of Michelle Burkham in her upcoming ’80s-set flick “Skateland,” she was simply that girl from that vampire movie.
“It was right before ‘New Moon.’ No one really knew who I was,” she recalled of the audition process. “We had done ‘Twilight,’ and I think maybe it had just come out. … Actually, I feel like it came out while ['Skateland'] was filming. And, of course, I got the news of how big it was. No one really knew who I was at that point, so I was just a girl who was in this movie that was buzzed about. I really had to work for it.”
After a long gestation period, audiences will finally get to see Greene in her first non-”Twilight” role — one she said is very different from her vampire alter ego.
“I was really excited, because it was definitely a departure from Alice Cullen. I think it was two years ago, so I’m excited it’s finally coming out,” she told MTV News. “I basically read the script, and I was really drawn to the character because Michelle — she’s strong and she’s vulnerable, and I feel like you don’t get that a lot with female roles in films. She’s kind of the headstrong girl in the movie, and she knows what she wants and she’s confident and, you know, a no-bull kind of girl.”
“Skateland” stars Shiloh Fernandez as a small-town Texas skating-rink manager who’s forced to grow up after a series of dramatic events unfold in his life.
